A City block with expired 1-story buildings was purchased by a young development group eager to capture the resurging downtown market for a mixed-use urban lifestyle. The project site has high public visibility due to its location on the main state highway bisecting the desirable downtown historic district. The complex is a six-story “U” shape plan of retail, office and residential units surrounding an internally connected parking garage. A walk-thru arcade connects the parking garage to the public sidewalks on the street. The first two floors of retail shops are covered in golden brick veneer while the upper floors of executive offices are faced in stucco & ceramic tile. The facade materials are consistent with the contributing buildings in the nearby historic district. The upper floor residential units are oriented toward the local side street facing a public park. The two street corners of the complex include a popular restaurant on the park side and a major bank corporation on the busiest corner.
