This was a complex project to completely remodel a thirty year old campus in order to meet current Fla. Department of Education specifications.
The original low-profile buildings had no air conditioning and little thermal insulation value. The existing site was a constraint for layering underground utilities due to the existing high ground water table and the entire site below the established FEMA flood plain.
New north additions to the Administration and Cafeteria Buildings were designed as a new entrance fac;:ade to the primary county road. New faculty parking and bus loop were constructed to the east with direct access into the remodeled classroom wings and Media Center.
Over 130,000 sq. ft. of floor space was renovated, remodeled, or constructed new, at a total cost of $55.63 per sq. ft., one of the lowest remodeling costs achieved by the local School Board for the revamp of an entire campus.
