The Owner need s assessments warranted the complete remodeling and enlargement of the existing 1964 campus.
The original 1960’s “finger plan” layout of the school was secured on the open end s by constructing the new classrooms perpendicular to the existing buildings. This concept created three new enclosed “courtyards” dividing the classroom wings into intimate sizes for small scale activities, and exterior teaching assemblies. This triple courtyard concept was very acceptable to the School Board and City due to the need for stringent security.
This public school is the first in the county to institute the Montessori way of teaching.
