As a part of the design concept of the proposed Edison/ Ford Estates, a land area was established outside the original historic parcel for the construction of new amenities to facilitate and inform the burgeoning public of these· American icons.
The concept of a square was realized as a point of entry and exit for all who visited the Estates. The Square contained an entrance plaza, two historic houses, a large theater, food court, the Estate entrance and administration building, an eloquent restaurant. a gift shop, and a local information stand.
These structures were assembled around a densely landscaped octagon plaza, with shaded seating and many areas for outdoor performances & entertainment. The historic Estates combined with Inventors Square, allows a visitor to enjoy a range of interest for the entire day.
